1949-55 Oldsmobile V8 Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit

1949-55 Oldsmobile V8 Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit

This listing helps you convert your 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, and 1955 Oldsmobile with stock single exhaust to a dual exhaust system. Excludes models with Power Brakes. Our patterns do not accommodate vehicles with power brakes. If your 1949-55 Olds has power brakes, this system will not fit.

Photo depicts the dual conversion system (with mufflers) for 1953-55 Olds with the stock V8. Photo shows a system that the tail pipes have been cut to reduce the shipping cost (and can also make installation easier).

  • The dual conversion exhaust kit consists of LS front & rear exhaust pipes, RS exhaust pipe, LS/RS glasspacks, LS/RS tailpipes, gaskets and clamps. We will provide a blocker plate for MY’s 1954-55. This kit does not come with the hangers.

Lead time on this system with glasspacks generally runs 5-6 wks. If you opt to have the system built with mufflers, the lead time will be as posted above.

  • Our pattern pipes for this Olds dual conversion exhaust will NOT accommodate for vehicles with power brakes.

  • The following statement pertains to pipes only (mufflers have a 1 year warranty regardless of material chosen) and to vehicles that are not daily drivers and are stored in an enclosed building: Aluminized Steel has a life expectancy of 20-25 years and is considered to be truer to the original material on vintage vehicles. T409 Stainless Steel is ferric and magnets will stick to it. T409 stainless steel is the same type of stainless used by car manufactures today and will never rust through, although it may develop pock-marks of rust which can simply be buffed out.
  • When building our exhaust systems; where (or if) it requires a pipe diameter of 2” or larger, it will be 14-gauge tubing, where (or if) it requires a pipe diameter smaller than 2”, it will be 16-gauge tubing.
  • Check out our On-line Swap Meet for both aftermarket and OEM (some) H pipes and Y pipes, along with “odd ball” mufflers.
